Here are the candidates for the Scorebook Live Southern California girls basketball player of the week for Jan 6-12, as nominated by fans, readers and Scorebook Live’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Players from the Southern, LA City and San Diego Sections are considered. Voting will conclude on Thursday at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced Friday morning. Alyssa Durazo-Frescas, Mater Dei: Durazo-Frescas dropped 17 points for Mater Dei in a 59-55 victory against Harvard-Westlake.

Myanna Emery, Serra: Emery put up 24 points in Serra’s 57-73 defeat to Bishop Montgomery.

Rokhaya Cisse, Chaparral: Cisse’s 16 points helped lead Chaparral to a 68-38 win over Corona.

Rayah Marshall, Lynwood: Marshall dropped 17 points for Lynwood in their 65-28 victory against Warren.



Clara Wiltgen, Orangewood Academy: Wiltgen’s 15 points led the way for Orangewood’s 71-12 win over St. Margaret’s.

Alexis Mead, King: Mead netted 15 points for King in a 54-48 victory over Roosevelt.

Vanessa DeJesus, Sierra Canyon: DeJesus put up 18 points against Chaminade in Sierra Canyon’s 59-34 win.

Maliah Bosley, Xavier Prep: Bosley’s 22 points led the way for Xavier Prep in their 47-42 win against La Quinta.

Emma Svoboda, La Quinta: Svoboda registered a 24 point-11 rebound double-double to go along with 7 blocks in La Quinta’s 42-47 defeat against Xavier Prep.

Kalaya Buggs, Long Beach Poly: Buggs’ 16 points against Compton helped LB Poly to a 63-23 win.
