Here are the candidates for the Scorebook Live Southern California girls basketball player of the week for Dec. 30 – Jan. 5, as nominated by fans, readers and Scorebook Live’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Players from the Southern, LA City and San Diego Sections are considered. Voting will conclude on Thursday at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced Friday morning. Catherine Swanson, Aliso Niguel: Swanson’s 22 points led Aliso to a 74-53 win against Mark Keppel.

Sarino Dacio, Westview: Dacio had 26 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals in Westview’s 71-46 win over San Clemente.

Meghan McIntyre, St. Anthony: McIntyre scored 16 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 steals in the St. Anthony’s 69-32 victory over El Dorado.

Meaali’i Amosa, Mater Dei: Amosa put up 15 points in Mater Dei’s 71-26 win against Orange Lutheran.



Vanessa DeJesus, Sierra Canyon: DeJesus scored an impressive 21 points for Sierra Canyon in their 55-46 victory over Cathedral Catholic.

Kaiya Mack, Esperanza: Mack led Esperanza with 14 points in their 65-24 win over Orange Lutheran.

Taylor Donaldson, Oaks Christian: Donaldson scored 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists in Oaks Christian’s 51-32 win over La Salle.

Jess Magallanes, Thousand Oaks: Magallanes netted 17 points in Thousand Oaks’ loss against Inglewood.

Breya Cunningham, La Jolla Country Day: Cunningham, a freshman, had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Torreys’ 70-42 win over Centennial.
