Here are Scorebook Live’s Top 10 rankings for San Diego Section high school boys basketball for the week of Feb. 17. Our San Diego Section basketball rankings are released weekly throughout the 2019-20 high school basketball season. The rankings are compiled by SB Live reporter Bodie DeSilva.
TOP 10 SAN DIEGO SECTION BOYS BASKETBALL RANKINGS
Week of Feb 17, 2020
1. Cathedral Catholic (21-7)
The Dons finished out the regular season with a win over Mission Bay. They’ll play Christian for the sixth time in the last two seasons to begin the Open Division playoffs.
2. St. Augustine (23-5)
The Saints finished the regular season strong with big wins over Mission Bay and La Jolla. They’ll host Mater Dei Catholic in the 1st round of the Open Division.
3. Torrey Pines (24-4)
Torrey Pines beat San Marcos and La Costa Canyon at home to close out league play. They’ll host Poway in a rematch of last season’s Open Division quarterfinal.
4. Christian (21-5)
The Patriots won at La Jolla to finish the season. They’ll travel to Cathedral Catholic, after splitting their two league matchups with the Dons this year.
5. Foothills Christian (20-8)
The Knights beat La Jolla Country Day then grabbed a huge road win at Francis Parker to share the league title with the Lancers. They’ll get to host Parker on Friday, a week after their last matchup.
6. Francis Parker (21-4)
Parker dropped their senior night game to Foothills Christian and ended in a tie for league with the Knights. They’ll travel to Cuyamaca College to play Foothills Christian for the third time since January 22nd.
7. Poway (24-4)
The Titans finished league play, winning each game by double digits. They’ll begin the playoffs at Torrey Pines for the second straight season.
8. Mater Dei Catholic (22-5)
The Crusaders finished out league play with wins over Bonita Vista and Montgomery. They’ll travel to St. Augustine on Friday for round one of the Open Division.
9. Carlsbad (21-7)
Carlsbad crushed Canyon Crest on senior night and picked up a forfeit win against La Costa Canyon one night later. They’re the two-seed in the division one bracket and will host Montgomery on Tuesday night.
10. El Camino (22-5)
The Wildcats erased a halftime deficit at Oceanside to win and cap an undefeated run through league play. They’re the three-seed in division one and will host Westview, who they lost to on January 10th.
