THREE TO SEE

Deniro Osuna, quarterback

Beginning his third season as the starter, his 32 total touchdowns last season earned him a spot on the All-CIF second team.

Jonathan Medina, running back

Over 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns coming out of the backfield last season.

Angel Nava-Esparza, linebacker/running back

Led the Spartans with 89 tackles and 20 TFL’s in 2018; also doubled as the short yardage back scoring 12 touchdowns.

OUTLOOK

The Spartans were six points shy of a perfect season in 2018. An offseason to think about that could help push Central over the top this year.

With the top three receivers gone from a season ago, Fernando Morales and others will have to step up to give Osuna pass-catching options.

With the Spartans returning talent and experience, a second straight Imperial Valley League Title looks well within reach.
