THIS WEEK’S AMERICA’S TIRE NORCAL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Jacob Porteous, Casa Grande QB: Porteous went ballistic (not the first time this season) to lead Casa to a 70-34 win over Napa. He completed 34 of 44 passes for 524 yards and eight touchdowns, and also ran for 43 yards.

Ryan Warkentin, Reedley RB: Warkentin led the Pirates to a 42-21 win over Roosevelt (Fresno) by running for 212 yards and five touchdowns.

Aiden “Ponyboy” Taylor, Central Catholic RB: Taylor helped lead the Raiders to a 56-33 win over Manteca for a league title with 230 yards and four touchdowns rushing on just 15 carries.

Julian Lopez, Central Catholic RB: Lopez ran for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, caught for a touchdown, and even threw a touchdown pass.

Ty Pele-Chambers, Lemoore QB: Pele-Chambers completed 12 of 16 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-20 win against Golden West.

Jaeden Moore, Central Valley Christian DE/TE: In a 49-20 win over Hanford West, Moore recorded 11 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, and a touchdown catch.

Mason Hallin, Montgomery QB/WR/FS: Hallin helped lead the Vikings to a 30-21 upset of St. Vincent with four carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns, three catches for 51 yards, nine tackles, and an interception he returned 45 yards.

Anthony Garcia, Capital Christian QB: Garcia helped lead the Cougars to a 64-31 win against Sacramento with 365 yards and six touchdowns passing on 26-34 completion. He also ran for 34 yards and a touchdown.

Cameron Sampson, Capital Christian DB/WR: Sampson caught for 83 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 49 yards, and took an interception the full 100 yards for a pick-six.

Garrett McGriff, Jesuit RB/DB: McGriff helped lead Jesuit to a 70-35 win over Elk Grove for a Delta League title, finishing with 96 yards and a touchdown rushing on just three carries, a pick-six, and a career-high and team-high seven tackles.

Carlos Moreno, Strathmore RB: Moreno led the Spartans to a 50-21 win against Corcoran with 281 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, a two-point conversion rushing, and over 300 total yards of offense.

Tanner Wilson, Sunnyside QB: Wilson threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns on 18-21 completion, and also ran for a touchdown in a 34-7 victory against McLane.

Derek Sheerer, Homestead RB: Sheerer led Homestead to a 49-45 win against Mountain View by turning just 11 carries into 282 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the Mustangs in receiving with three catches for 85 yards and another TD.

Michael Bell, San Joaquin Memorial QB: Bell helped lead the Panthers to a 47-3 rout of Madera South with four touchdowns and 173 yards on 9-14 completion, and five carries for 45 yards.

Gavin Zuniga, San Joaquin Memorial LB: Zuniga erupted for 19 tackles, 12 of which were solo. Brandon Ramirez added 18 tackles for SJM.

Casimiro Barragan, Kingsburg QB: Barragan lifted the Vikings over Dinuba 42-41 by completing 23 of 27 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns.

Jordan Wagner, Lincoln (Lincoln) LB: Wagner registered 14 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in a 23-15 win over Ponderosa.

Omari Gayles, St. Mary’s (Stockton) DB: Gayles grabbed two interceptions he returned for 47 total yards and also recovered a fumble in a 62-3 annihilation of Tokay.

Petelo Gi, Serra (San Mateo) RB: Gi erupted for 134 yards and a touchdown rushing and 123 receiving yards to lead the Padres over Valley Christian 28-21.

Maddox Varella, Oak Ridge QB: Varella completed 14 of 21 passes for four touchdowns and 112 yards in a 45-8 rout of Grant.

Connor Dasmann, Oak Ridge DE: Dasmann exploded for 10 tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, and forced a fumble.

Darian Leon-Guerrero, Vacaville RB: Leon-Guerrero helped lead the Bulldogs over Vanden 35-17 for a league title with 95 rushing yards and a touchdown run, two touchdown catches, and 94 receiving yards.

Mason Rivera, Kimball WR/FS: In a 56-14 win against Sierra, Rivera caught for 69 yards and two touchdowns, and also made an interception.

Conner Stoddard, Downey (Modesto) QB: Stoddard completed 20 of 27 passes for 395 yards and six touchdowns in a 45-20 win over Enochs. He also ran for 62 yards on just two carries.

Gavin Garcia, Downey (Modesto) WR: Garcia caught for three touchdowns and 168 yards.

Scott Nixon, Sheldon WR/TE/LB: In a 49-28 win against Vista del Lago, Nixon caught for 102 yards and two touchdowns, and recorded five tackles (one for loss), a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two pass break-ups.

Jake Elorduy, Christian Brothers QB: Elorduy completed 13 of 15 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns to lift the Falcons over El Camino 43-36.

Phillip Bell, Christian Brothers WR: Bell caught for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

Tanaki Tonga, Monterey Trail LB: Tonga recorded a pick-six, a fumble-recovery touchdown, and a blocked punt in a 76-0 demolition of Kennedy (Sacramento).

Jaydrian Lawson, Patterson WR/CB: Lawson helped lift the Tigers over Golden Valley 59-43 with two rushing touchdowns, 114 total yards of offense, and a 92-yard kick return touchdown.

Kaleb Banez, Yuba City WR/CB: Banez caught for 190 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-17 victory against Roseville.

Nick Afato, Yuba City QB/LB: Afato not only completed nine of 15 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns, but also ran for 49 yards and two TDs, and led the team in tackles (tied) and passes defensed.

Jonathan Wiser, Bradshaw Christian RB/LB: Wiser helped lead The Pride to a 26-20 win over Galt with 67 yards and a touchdown receiving, and 12 of the team’s 40 tackles.

Evan Sanchez, Enterprise DL: Sanchez had two interceptions in a 27-6 win against Red Bluff.

Carter Abel, University Prep RB/LB: Abel ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns, made eight tackles, and returned two kickoffs for a total of 93 yards and a TD in a 30-27 win against Orland.

Riley Hays, University Prep S: Hays erupted for 16 tackles and an interception.

Matt MacLeod, Menlo-Atherton QB: MacLeod dominated in a 56-20 win over Sacred Heart Prep with 289 yards and four touchdowns passing on 20-22 completion, plus a rushing touchdown.

Johnnie Barbie, Menlo-Atherton WR: Barbie caught for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Luke Rossi, Palma QB: Rossi tallied 140 yards and a touchdown on 17-28 passing plus 14 carries for 150 yards and two TDs in a loss to San Benito.

Sergio Beltran, Menlo School QB: In a 48-7 rout of Aragon, Beltran went off for 331 yards and five touchdowns passing on 21-34 completion and 111 rushing yards.

Sam Betz, Leigh RB/K: In a 41-21 win over Prospect, Betz led the Longhorns with 177 yards and three touchdowns rushing and 31 yards and a touchdown receiving. He also went 5/6 on PATs.

Chase Vehmeyer, Windsor QB: Vehmeyer completed 16 of 20 passes for 306 yards and five touchdowns in a 55-21 win versus West County. He also ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries. His two top receivers were Makhi Johnson and Hayden Anderson, both of whom also grabbed an interception on defense.

Tyson Wallace, Benicia QB: Wallace completed 11 of 14 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-0 trouncing of previously unbeaten Miramonte.

Santino Acevedo, Cardinal Newman RB/LB: Acevedo did a little bit of everything in a 34-10 win against Maria Carrillo. He ran 11 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns, had 45 receiving yards, led the Cardinals in tackles, and notched a 65-yard interception-return touchdown.

Tony Schillaci, Foothill (Pleasanton) DE/RB: Schillaci led the Falcons to a 24-0 win over Livermore with a rushing touchdown, over 150 yards of offense, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and six QB-hurries.

Dylan Smith, Vintage RB: Smith ran for three touchdowns and over 200 yards in a 40-7 rout of Justin-Siena.

Devon Rivers, Heritage (Brentwood) RB/CB: In a 50-30 win against Freedom, Rivers ran for 223 yards and four touchdowns, and also grabbed a pick that he returned 35 yards.

Jeremiah Ruffin, Heritage (Brentwood) WR: Ruffin caught for 144 yards and three touchdowns, and grabbed an interception as well, in addition a fumble recovery.

Jayden Ennis, Heritage (Brentwood) SS: Ennis had one of the top defensive stat lines of the season – 18 tackles, six TFLs, a fumble recovery, and an interception.

Emma Daughtery, Pleasant Valley volleyball: Daughtery totaled 26 digs, 24 kills and 10 aces in wins over Red Bluff and Foothill.

Emma Madden, Burlingame girls volleyball: Madden totaled 35 kills, 17 digs and 4 aces in wins over Aragon and Sequoia.

Lindsay Taylor, Davis girls water polo: Taylor totaled 28 goals and 6 assists to lead Davis to a 5-0 week.

Erin Hirni, Exeter girls water polo: Hirni had eight goals and three assists to lead Exeter to an 18-8 win over Dinuba.
