SBLive’s preseason All-North Coast Section Team was compiled by reporter Lance Smith.

FIRST TEAM OFFENSE

QB Jaden Rashada – Pittsburg – JR.

A 4-star recruit and top-five ranked QB in the Class of 2023, Rashada threw for 412 yards and eight touchdowns splitting snaps with a senior in the spring. This season as Pittsburg’s full-time starter, he has a great chance to break out statistically as one of the best QBs in NorCal. Rashada is up to at least 18 D-1 offers.

RB Devon Rivers – Heritage – JR.

Rivers was one of the most productive rushers in the state as a sophomore, running for 911 yards and 12 touchdowns in just six games, and finishing with 1,165 all-purpose yards. Now he’s a 3-star prospect and has an offer from New Mexico.

RB/LB Dylan Smith – Vintage – SR.

The 2-star prospect ran for 827 yards and 15 touchdowns last season on a whopping 14.8 yards per carry. Smith is also one of the top linebackers in the section.

WR Jake Calcagno – California – SR.

One of the best and most underrated receivers in the Bay Area, Calcagno caught for over 100 yards per game last season.

WR Rashid Williams – Pittsburg – JR.

Williams missed the spring season with a collarbone injury, but he caught for 272 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman in 2019. He’s already at upwards of 10 offers and could be looking at an all-state caliber season if he’s 100%.

TE Jack Endries – Monte Vista – SR.

Endries, a 3-star prospect with 15 offers, held off some of the best defenses in the section to catch for 476 yards in just six games.

OL Jackson Brown – San Ramon Valley – SR.

Brown enters his senior season as arguably the top offensive lineman in NorCal. The 3-star tackle is 6-6, 295, and has upwards of 25 D-1 offers.

OL Derek Thompson – De La Salle – JR.

Thompson is the only non-senior starting on De La Salle’s offensive line, but the 3-star right guard has already established himself one of the premiere O-linemen in the Bay Area. He has an offer from Nevada.

OL Louie Canepa – Vintage – SR.

Canepa is a 3-star prospect with at least five D-1 offers, and one of the best run-blockers around.

OL Favor Komolafe – Liberty – SR.

The 2-star tackle emerged as one of the top O-linemen in the section last season.

OL Brandon Sousa – Foothill – SR.

Sousa is one of the top OLs in NorCal without a D-1 offer.

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE

DL Brady Nassar – Amador Valley – JR.

Amador Valley only got three games in last season, but Nassar was still good for 12 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks. The 3-star outside lineman’s first offer came from Washington.

DL Miles Bailey – Benicia – SR.

Bailey, a 3-star Fresno State commit, registered 32 tackles, six tackles for loss, and four sacks last season.

DL/TE Brodie Tagaloa – De La Salle – SR.

Tagaloa is a 3-star TE who also has a major role at DE for De La Salle. He missed last season with an injury but is one of the best two-way players around when healthy.

LB/RB/K Santino Acevedo – Cardinal Newman – JR.

Considered by many the top player in Sonoma County, Acevedo recorded 41 tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven sacks, eight QB-hurries, two interceptions, and a forced fumble in just five games as a sophomore last season. He was also started on Newman’s 2019 state championship team as a freshman. Additionally, Acevedo is expected to take up a major role at RB this season, and is a high-caliber placekicker too.

LB/WR Tanner Salisbury – San Ramon Valley – SR.

Salisbury caught for 249 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore at SRV in 2019, played his junior season at Mater Dei, and is now back with the Wolves. He has over a dozen offers as a 3-star linebacker, and also is likely to be an impact player at receiver.

LB Sam Ross – Miramonte – SR.

A 3-star recruit with upwards of a dozen offers, Ross made 40 tackles, five TFLs, and 4.5 sacks in five games last season.

LB/RB Salesi Moala – Tennyson – SR.

Moala is a 3-star prospect at LB, but he gets the nod here in part due to his offensive prowess. In just four games as a junior, he totaled 28 tackles, five TFLs, two sacks, three QB-hurries, 629 rushing yards and 11 rushing yards on 12.6 yards per carry, and four catches for 86 yards and two more TDs. He even completed two passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.

DB/WR Zeke Berry – De La Salle – SR.

A 4-star Arizona commit, Berry is the most highly-touted defensive back in the Bay Area, and can play both CB and FS fluidly. He’s also arguably De La Salle’s top receiving threat.

DB/WR Robert Freeman – El Cerrito – SR.

Freeman anchored the secondary of an El Cerrito squad that only allowed seven points last season. The 3-star ATH prospect also had 750 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns.

DB Isaac Greene – Bishop O’Dowd – SR.

Greene recorded four interceptions in just five games last season.

DB Chikala Warden – De Anza – SR.

The 3-star recruit is one of the top lockdown corners in the region.
