Gisselle Garcia, Mater Dei Catholic RHP: Garcia tossed a no-hitter while striking out 12 batters in Saturday’s win over Rancho Buena Vista to capture the San Diego Section Open Division Championship
Christian Becerra, Harvard-Westlake RHP: Becerra threw a one-hit shutout while striking out seven batters to take down JSerra in Saturday’s Southern Section Division 1 Championship.
Ray Cebulski, Eastlake RHP: Cebulski threw 6 1/3 innings and struck out ten batters to help Eastlake win the San Diego Section Open Division Championship over Grossmont, 8-3.
Jayda Curry, Corona Centennial G: Curry had 27 points to help the Huskies get redemption against Mater Dei and win the Southern California Open Division Girls Basketball Championship.
Hudson Beamon, Granite Hills 2B: Beamon had a walk-off single to help the Eagles take down Point Loma, 3-2, in the San Diego Section Division 1 Baseball Championship game.
Dom Porter, San Pedro OF: Porter hit a game-winning two-run home run to lead San Pedro to the City Section Open Division Championship with a 7-6 win over El Camino Real.
Aysha Shaheed, Madison Track and Field: Shaheed ran an 11.61 in the 100m to become state leader and ran the 200m in 24.14, the second fastest time in California this year.
Luke Piazza, Royal INF: Piazza hit a three-run double to help the Highlanders take down Rancho Cucamonga 3-2 in the Southern Section Division 4 Baseball championship game.
Daniel Murrillo, Long Beach Millikan RHP: Murrillo pitched the final 3.2 innings on Saturday, allowing no runs to help the Rams take down Arlington 2-0 in the Southern Section Division 3 Baseball championship.
Aixchel Hernandez, Orangewood Academy F: Hernandez had 29 points and 11 rebounds in Tuesday’s win over Carlsbad in the Southern California 1-AA regional playoffs.
McKenna Gieger, Patrick Henry INF: Gieger hit a walk-off three-run home run to take down Cathedral Catholic 9-8 in last week’s elimination game.
Jillian Kelly, El Camino Real LHP: Kelly threw a no-hitter while striking out 12 batters in Saturday’s City Section Open Division Championship game against Granada Hills Charter.
Carissa Fillingame, Sultana INF: Fillingame had three hits including two triples and four runs batted in to help the Sultans take down Redondo Union 7-4 in the Southern Section D3 Championship game.
Kelsey Tadlock, San Marcos LHP: Tadlock threw a shutout against Rancho Bernardo in the San Diego Section D1 Championship game, allowing four hits and striking out nine to help the Knights win 1-0.
Sarah Haendiges, Upland RHP: Haendiges threw nine shutout innings and struck out ten batters to help the Highlanders take down Villa Park 1-0 in the Southern Section D2 Championship game.
