Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Northern California High School Athlete of the Week for May 31-June 6 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced Monday. THIS WEEK’S NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Talia Medalle, Dixon girls basketball: In Dixon’s only game of the week, Medalle notched 20 points (7-11 FG), 16 assists, and six steals in a blowout win against Casa Roble.

Aaliyah Thompson, Corcoran girls basketball: Thompson went for 27 points on 80% shooting, six blocks, and a season-high 16 rebounds in Corcoran’s only game of the week, a 77-62 victory against Rosamond.

Brecklin Beaman, Sacramento Adventist boys basketball: Beaman led the Capitals to a 2-0 week averaging 29.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5.5 steals per game on 59% EFG.

Samuel Bazunga, St. Joseph (Santa Maria) boys basketball: Bazunga scored 26 points on 13-17 shooting with 11 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in a win over Clovis West.

Makena Goldbeck, Maria Carrillo softball: Goldbeck pitched 8.2 innings without allowing an earned run in an extra-innings win against Cardinal Newman. She also went 2-4 at the plate.

Mia Nishikawa, Central (Fresno) softball: In Central’s only game last week, Nishikawa pitched a complete game shutout (seven innings) and two-hitter. She also went 1-2 at bat.

Jessica Oakland, Saint Francis (Mountain View) softball: Oakland led Saint Francis to a 2-0 week batting 4-7 with three home runs and five RBIs.

Rachael Bles, Petaluma softball: In Petaluma’s only win last week, a rout of Vintage, Bles went 4-4 with two home runs, a double, and five RBIs.

Meika Lauppe, East Nicolaus softball: Lauppe was dominant in the circle for both games of a two-game sweep of Paradise, totaling 11 inning with 16 strikeouts, only three baserunners allowed, and no runs.

Jerzie Brown, East Nicolaus softball: Brown led East Nicolaus on offense going 6-7 with a double and a triple, three RBIs, and four runs scored.

Daniel O’Sullivan, Colusa baseball: O’Sullivan led Colusa to a two-game sweep of Live Oak batting 5-7 with a triple, a home run, and a walk, eight RBIs, and five runs scored.

Malcolm Moore, McClatchy baseball: In just two games last week, Moore went 6-7 with a walk, three home runs, 10 RBIs, and six runs scored.

Garrett Lewis, Petaluma baseball: Lewis led the Trojans to a 2-0 week batting 5-5 with three walks, a double, two homers, five RBIs, and five runs.

Tyler Van Dyk, Central Catholic baseball: In a 2-0 week for the Raiders, Van Dyk threw a complete game allowing no earned runs, and also went 3-8 with two RBIs at the plate.

Elijah Rogalski, Rio Americano baseball: Rogalski played in three games of Rio Americano’s 4-0 week, throwing four scoreless innings across two games for a win and a no-decision, racking up nine K’s. In Wednesday’s game, he went 4-4 with two doubles, a triple, and a home run, and came around to score five times will driving in four runs.
