SBLive California Podcast: Southern Section Open Division basketball round-robin playoff format a big success

In this week’s episode of the SBLive California Podcast, reporters Connor Morrissette, Lance Smith and Bodie DeSilva discuss the biggest stories of the week in Southern California high school sports.

Morrissette explains why the Southern Section basketball Open Division pool play format worked perfectly this year. He then predicts the winner of the boys title game on Friday between Corona Centennial and Sierra Canyon. 

DeSilva updates the state of high school sports in San Diego by previewing the baseball playoffs and semifinal basketball matchups. Smith then discusses the girls basketball postseason in the LA City and Southern Sections. 

The show finishes with the trio giving their top performers from the past week and Morrissette and DeSilva discussing pitching matchups in baseball in their repsective Sections.
