Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Northern California High School Athlete of the Week for May 24-30 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. THIS WEEK’S NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Courtni Thompson, Pinewood girls basketball: Thompson led the Panthers to a 2-0 week averaging 20 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists, 2.5 steals, and a block per game on very efficient marks of 52% FG and 66% EFG.

Kathleen Hutchens, Arroyo Grande girls basketball: Hutchens averaged 22.5 PPG to lead Arroyo Grande to a huge pair of wins over Orcutt Academy.

PK Hall, Miramonte girls basketball: Hall led Miramonte to a 2-0 week averaging 21 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and four steals per game on 51% shooting.

Diamond Richardson, Grant (Sacramento) girls basketball: In two wins last week, Richardson scored 19 points and 18 points shooting 8-14 both nights, plus 4 rebounds, two assists, and three steals per game.

Emmanuel Callas, Campolindo boys basketball: Callas led Campolindo to two wins averaging 19 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

AJ George, Hoover (Fresno) boys basketball: George led Hoover to a pair of wins over Fresno averaging 26.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on an unbelievably efficient 79% FG.

Aidan Braccia, Sacred Heart Prep boys basketball: Braccia played in two of the Gators’ three games last week. He led Sacred Heart Prep to wins in both games averaging 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and three steals per game.

Victoria Rey, Notre Dame (Salinas) softball: In two games last week, both wins, Rey went 6-7 with two triples, a home run, and eight RBIs.

Riley Wickum, Sutter softball: Wickum continued her dominant junior campaign by throwing three complete games in three days for three wins, allowing just three earned runs in 23 innings and striking out 44. At bat, she went 9-13 with three doubles, two home runs, and eight RBIs.

Reegan Floyd, Lassen softball: Floyd led the Grizzlies to a 2-0 week pitching 11.2 innings, allowing just one earned run, racking up 18 strikeouts, and getting the win in both outings. She also hit 4-6 with three doubles and a home run, and scored six total times.

Aubrey Smith, Oakmont softball: Smith led Oakmont to a pair of blowout wins batting 5-7 with a double, a homer, five RBIs, and three runs scored. She also pitched seven innings between the two games and allowed just one earned run.

Nolan Stevens, Franklin (Elk Grove) baseball: In a three-game sweep of Jesuit, Stevens threw a complete game shutout and went 5-8 with a double, a triple, three RBIs, and two runs.

Rockwell Lybbert, Davis baseball: Lybbert led the Blue Devils to a 2-1 series win over Cosumnes Oaks batting 7-10 with three doubles, plus throwing 5.1 innings with only two earned runs allowed in a win.

Ty Uber, Ponderosa baseball: Uber helped lead Ponderosa to a three-game sweep of Rio Linda batting 5-8 with four runs and three RBIs, plus a win on the mound in which he threw four hitless, scoreless innings and K’d nine.

Gabe Barrett, Mountain View baseball: Barrett led Mountain View to a 2-1 week going 6-9 with a double, a homer, and eight RBIs. He also turned in a great outing on the mound despite a loss with one earned run allowed in 6.2 innings.

Will Tatista, University Prep (Redding) baseball: In a 2-0 week for the Panthers, Tatista went 6-9 with two doubles and six RBIs, and threw a complete game on the mound with no earned runs (two unearned runs) allowed.

Zander Darby, Palo Alto baseball: Darby helped lead the Vikings to a 3-0 week – in which they scored 42 runs – batting 8-11 with three walks, eight runs scored, and five RBIs.
