NEWPORT BEACH– Fairmont Prep locked up a tie for the San Joaquin League title for the second straight season on Wednesday with a 53-40 win against Sage Hill.
After jumping out to a double-digit lead early in the first half, the Huskies had to fend off multiple rallies by Isabel Gomez and the Lightening in which their lead was cut to single digits. But Fairmont Prep answered with big shots every time, and was able to put the game away before it got too close.
Kayla Ishibashi led the Huskies with 17 points, and Mia Yamamoto and Makaila Glynn finished 16 points and 12 points respectively. AnLing Su Vera dropped 11 assists.
Gomez led all scorers with 21 points for Sage. Check out our highlight video from the game.
