SAN DIEGO — St. Augustine took control early in Monday’s Western League matchup with Scripps Ranch, scoring three runs in the second inning and two more in the third inning to give themselves a 5-0 lead. The Saints, ranked fourth in the San Diego Section, notched 11 hits and drew five walks during the contest. Scripps Ranch battled back, scoring two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, but were unable to get any more across the plate. The Saints got big efforts from juniors Luke Rhee and Xavier Franco. Rhee was 2-2 at the plate with an RBI and two walks, while Franco was 3-3 with an RBI. Check out all the photos from the game below.
