The NCAA Tournament is back in 2021 after being canceled due to COVID-19 in 2020. This year’s men’s tournament is filled with former California (CIF) high school basketball stars – a total of 77 players who finished their high school careers in California.
Here’s a look at all 77 players, broken down by Region and their college.
FORMER CALIFORNIA STARS IN 2021 NCAA TOURNAMENT
Colby Brooks – Loyola
Brooks joined the Bulldogs as a walk-on for the 2020-21 season.
Abe Eagle – Chaminade Prep
Eagle is in his first season as a walk-on for Gonzaga.
Dominick Harris – Rancho Christian
Harris has played in 21 games this year during his first season in Spokane.
Appalachian State (16-seed)
Xavion Brown – Sheldon
Brown has played in 15 games this season, making one start for the Mountaineers.
Jaylen Clark – Etiwanda
Clark is averaging 2.5 points per game and has played in 25 games during his freshman season.
Jules Bernard – Windward
Bernard is averaging ten points per games and shooting over 40 percent from three-point range during his junior season.
Cody Riley – Sierra Canyon
Riley has started 25 games for the Bruins and is averaging ten points and five rebounds per game.
Johnny Juzang – Harvard-Westlake
Juzang leads UCLA in scoring at 14 points per game in his first season after transferring in from Kentucky.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. – Camarillo
Jaquez has started all 26 games for UCLA and is averaging 11 points per game.
Jake Kyman – Santa Margarita Catholic
Kyman has played in 25 games for the Bruins, averaging just over three points per game.
Logan Cremonesi – Mater Dei
Cremonesi has played in three games during his first season as a walk-on.
Jalen Hill – Corona Centennial
Hill has played in 15 games for the Bruins, averaging six points and six rebounds per game.
David Singleton – Bishop Montgomery
Singleton has played in every game for UCLA this season, averaging five points per game while shooting 46 percent from three-point range.
Russell Stong – Crespi
Stong has played in three games for the Bruins this season.
Elijah Harkless – Etiwanda
Harkless is averaging eight points, five rebounds, and two steals per game in his first season in Norman after transferring in from Cal State Northridge.
Drew Buggs – Long Beach Poly
Buggs graduated and transferred in after starting 87 games during his career at Hawaii. He’s averaging two points and two assists per game.

Jay Nagle – Will C. Wood
Nagle has played in 16 games for the Gauchos during his junior season.
Devearl Ramsey – Sierra Canyon
Ramsey has started each of the 26 games for the Gauchos during his senior season, averaging eight points and four assists per game.
Amadou Sow – Prolific Prep
Sow has averaged double digits in all three of his seasons for the Gauchos and was named to the All-Big West 1st team this season.
Max Cheylov – Calabasas
Cheylov has not appeared in a game during his redshirt freshman season.

Mobley was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, and Pac-12 Freshman Player of the Year after averaging 17 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks per game. He’s projected as a top-five pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

White has started 24 games for the Trojans this season, averaging seven points and four rebounds per game.

Coulibaly has played in 12 games during his freshman season.
McKay Anderson – La Verne Lutheran
Anderson has not played after undergoing knee surgery last season.
