Bench-clearing brawl mars CIF Southern Section Division 12 football semifinal between Adelanto and Orange Vista

With 9:30 to play in the third quarter of a Southern Section Division 12 semifinal football game between Adelanto and Orange Vista on Friday night, a bench-clearing fight broke out. Adelanto’s defense stuffed an Orange Vista run inside the five yard line on a third and goal and then a melee ensued.

The game was abandoned after the scuffle with Adelanto leading 41-0. The Southern Section hasn’t ruled on whether a team will advance to the championship. There is a CIF bylaw that states all players who leave the bench area during a fight are suspended for their team’s next contest.

If both teams are removed from the playoffs, El Monte will be the Division 12 champion following their 22-15 semifinal win over Jurupa Hills.

You can watch the brawl below at the 1:43:25 mark.

With all due respect Mr. Morrissette please see the “Rebuttal” film that has been presented to CIF
    on YouTube https://youtu.be/a879dE2eu_c

Please report ALL Sides of a story for those who were not at the game, from those who witnessed, heard and were direct witness to what Adelanto endured. It was bad enough to have referee’s who very clearly stood by and did not officiate as they should have, but put a lot of players in harms way….. Please see a Whole Picture!
Additionally, there is an additional video that shows in context to this game that an extensive play clock of 40 sec. or more was allowed by the referee’s in favor of Orange Vista when the score was a blow out before half time.

Please all we ask is that you report what has really happened. Thank you
