THREE TO SEE
Jalen Bainer, wide receiver/cornerback
The third-year starter has six career interceptions and will be looking to add on to the five scholarship offers he already holds.
Zavion Reese, wide receiver/cornerback
Had 740 all-purpose yards and scored nine touchdowns in 2018, while picking up offers from Utah State and San Jose State.
Nick Tiefer, linebacker
The leading tackler from last year returns looking to add on to an impressive season that saw him collect 88 tackles, 15.5 TFL, and 5 sacks.
San Marcos returns three of their four top receivers who combined for 95 catches and 16 touchdown receptions a year ago. This should help ease the pressure on sophomore quarterback Emmett Brown in his first varsity season.
The Knights return several key pieces from last season’s Open Division Appearance, but most of them will be expected to start on both sides which could test the depth of the roster.
Their schedule offers a few winnable games early in the season that should provide the Knights with confidence as they head into Avocado League play.
