NEWPORT HS - Newport's Sam Thomas led all scorers with 20 points as the Grizzlies beat Medical Lake Cardinals 65-52 in a game at Newport HS.

Thomas' points came on 7 field goals and 6 of 7 free throws during the game.

Nathan Jasmer added 15. Medical Lake fell to 10-2 overall while Newport improved their record to 7-4.

Medical Lake's next game is scheduled to be played at home on Friday Jan. 17 at 5:30pm versus Freeman. Newport will host Inglemoor on Tuesday Jan. 14 at 7:15pm.
