Best performances in Arkansas high school basketball state tournaments: Vote for Friday’s top star

The Arkansas high school basketball state tournaments continued Friday with action in all classes around the state. Here’s a look at some of the day’s top performers.

Chloe Clardy, Conway

She made three three-pointers and finished with a game-high 30 points in Conway’s 69-38 romp over Rogers in the 6A girls tournament.

Taylor Treadwell, Rogers 

She led Rogers with nine points in a 69-38 loss to Conway in 6A girls action.

Caroline Lyles, Fayetteville 

She had four three-pointers and scored a team-high 24 points as Fayetteville defeated Little Rock Central 72-58 in the 6A tournament.

Claudia Bridges, Fayetteville  

She had four three-pointers and finished with 20 points in Fayetteville’s 72-58 win over Central in the 6A tournament.

Lauryn Pendleton, Little Rock Central

She racked up a game-high 25 points for Little Rock Central in a 72-58 loss to Fayetteville in the 6A tournament.

Cheyanne Kemp, Morrilton 

She put up 30 points, five rebounds and three steals to carry Morrilton to a 64-58 victory over Joe T. Robinson in the 4A state tournament.

Alex Rouse, Joe T. Robinson 

She had a game-high 36 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for Joe T. Robinson in a 64-58 loss to Morrilton in the 4A tournament.

Alex Hill, Harrison 

She scored 16 of her 21 points in the second half for Harrison in a 62-57 win over Star City in 4A girls action.

Janiya Johnson, Star City 

She had 18 points for Star City in a 62-57 loss to Harrison in the 4A girls tournament.

Ashley Dillard, Atkins 

She scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds in Atkins’ 47-44 win over West Fork in the 3A tournament.

Whitney Coffelt, Valley Springs

She had 19 points as Valley Springs toppled Lamar 61-30 in the 3A tournament.


Jacob Joe, Fort Smith Northside 

He hit five three-pointers, pouring in 20 points to lead Fort Smith Northside to a 90-62 win over Fayetteville in the 6A boys tournament.

Tamaury Releford, Fort Smith Northside 

He scored 13 of his 19 points in the third quarter in Northside’s 90-62 win over Fayetteville in the 6A boys tournament.

Denarion Whitmore, Fort Smith Northside 

He dropped in 16 points in Northside’s 90-62 victory over Fayetteville in 6A boys action.

Landon Glasper, Fayetteville 

He tallied a game-high 25 points for Fayetteville in a 90-62 loss to Fort Smith Northside in the 6A boys tournament.

Matthew Wayman, Fayetteville  

He made four three-pointers for 12 points in Fayetteville’s 90-62 loss to Northside in the 6A tournament.

Kel’el Ware, North Little Rock

He scored 19 points in the third quarter en route to a game-high 27 for North Little Rock in a 68-25 rout of Rogers in the 6A tournament.

Carl Daugherty, Maumelle 

He led Maumelle with 19 points in a 60-58 win over Marion in the 5A tournament.

Timothy McDonald, Marion 

He had 14 of his team-high 18 points in the first half in Marion’s heartbreaking 60-58 loss to Maumelle in the 5A tournament.

Corey Washington, Sylvan Hills 

He dropped in 23 points for Sylvan Hills in a 76-68 win over West Memphis in 5A boys action.

Jordan Mitchell, West Memphis

He had a game-high 26 points for West Memphis in a 76-68 loss to Sylvan Hills in the 5A tournament.

Derrian Ford, Magnolia 

He had 21 points for Magnolia in a 61-58 win over Berryville in the 4A tournament.

Weston Teague, Berryville 

He dominated on both ends of the floor for Berryville, tallying 20 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocks in a 61-58 loss to Magnolia in the 4A tournament.
