THIS WEEK’S NOMINEES (MARCH 1-7):
Austin Cluck, Cedarville: The senior poured in 19 points in a 56-53 win against Valley Springs in the first round of the Region 2A-1 Regional Tournament on Thursday. A night later in the semifinals, Cluck led Cedarville back from an 11-point third-quarter deficit to beat Waldron 55-53 with four three-pointers during that span and finished with seven threes and 23 points to lead the Pirates. He chipped in 11 points in a 73-40 loss to Bergman in the title game.
Daniel Cobb, Baptist Prep: The senior guard poured in 19 points in a decisive 59-44 win against Lamar in the 3A-3 Regional Tournament semifinals Friday night.
Derrian Ford, Magnolia: The junior forward totaled 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 63-48 win against Watson Chapel in the 4A-South Regional Tournament title game Saturday night.
Colby Garland, Magnolia: The junior guard stuffed the scorebook with 26 points, five assists and three rebounds to help seal a 63-48 win in the 4A-South Regional Tournament title game Saturday night.
Andrew Haughaboo, Central Arkansas Christian: The senior guard paced the Mustangs with 22 points (six three-pointers) in a 60-59 win against Jessieville in a 3A-3 Regional Tournament first-round win Wednesday night.
Braxtyn McCuien, Mayflower: The senior center scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half to key a 67-63 3-3A Regional Tournament title win Saturday night. He led the Eagles with 17 points in a 46-44 win against CAC in a semifinal win Friday.
Tamarja Parker, Dumas: The senior forward totaled 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 61-43 win against Ashdown in the opening round of the 3A-1 Regional Tournament on Wednesday.
Walker Patton, Bergman: The sophomore forward scored a game-high 22 points in a 73-40 rout of Cedarville in the 3A-1 Regional Tournament final Saturday night.
Zac Pennington, Lake Hamilton: The sophomore point guard scored 19 points and dished out six assists in a 51-46 win against White Hall on Tuesday.
Sam Reynolds, Wonderview: The sophomore guard exploded for 32 points in a 61-45 win against Brinkley on Saturday night in the 1A-3 Regional Tournament third-place game.
Elijah Royce, Bergman: The junior forward scored a game-high 22 points in an 89-69 blowout of Booneville in the opening round of the 3A-1 Regional Tournament on Wednesday night.
Nick Smith, Sylvan Hills: The junior guard totaled 23 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and three assists in a 51-49 loss to Little Rock Parkview in the 5A-Central Conference Tournament championship game Friday night.
Caleb Squires, Wonderview: The junior guard exploded for 32 points in a 65-54 win against Bradford in the first round of the 1A-3 Regional Tournament on Wednesday.
Cameron Wallace, Little Rock Parkview: The junior forward hit the game-winning driving jumper to help the Patriots take a 51-49 victory against Sylvan Hills in the 5A-Central Conference Tournament title game Friday night. Wallace tallied 23 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in the win.
Luke Watson, Flippin: The junior guard scored 22 points in a 71-66 win against Flippin in the opening round of the 2A-West Regional Tournament on Wednesday.
Darryl Kattich, Cedarville: The junior had 13 points in Cedarville’s win over Valley Springs 56-53 in the first round of Region 1-3A play on Thursday night. Kattich also had 8 points in Cedarville’s semifinal win against Waldron on Friday night and 11 points in Cedarville’s loss to Bergman in the regional finals on Saturday night.
