Every week during the 2020 football season, SBLive Arkansas will rank the top high school football teams in every classification.
Here are the 4A rankings as compiled by SBLive reporters Connor Morrissette and Lance Smith.
1. Robinson (3-1)
It was supposed to be Robinson vs. Arkadelphia this week, but the pandemic has robbed football fans of one of the state’s most anticipated games of the year. The Senators still could play this week if they can find another opponent.
2. Arkadelphia (3-0)
Arkadelphia’s canceled showdown with Nashville last week is one of the biggest Arkansas games to be written off because of COVID-19. Even worse? The other supposed “4A regular-season game of the year” was supposed to be this week with the Badgers going up against Robinson, and that’s canceled, too.
All that said, at least Arkadelphia is sitting on an unbeaten record and plenty of confidence whenever the quest for a championship can resume.
3. Nashville (2-1)
Again, last week’s cancellation was a necessary but disappointing loss for all parties. The Scrappers will pick up this week against Fountain Lake.
4. Shiloh Christian (3-1)
After a narrow loss against Page (Oklahoma) two weeks ago, destroying Berryville 63-7 last week must have felt good for the Saints. They should breeze past a struggling Green Forest squad this week.
5. Rivercrest (4-0)
Rivercrest started with a bang in a 56-24 win over Paragould and hasn’t looked back. While the Colts have numerous strong teams awaiting them, there’s a very solid chance they run the table through the regular season. Up this week is Cave City.
