HOW THE TOP 20 FARED

1. Chandler (5-0) – Idle

2. Hamilton (5-0) beat No. 10 Highland 46-26

Rodney Clemente rushed for two fourth-quarter touchdowns to ice the game for the Huskies.

3. Saguaro (3-1) – Idle

4. Centennial (4-2) beat Brophy Prep 35-3

Centennial rolled to an easy win.

5. Liberty (4-2) beat No. 18 Pinnacle 36-25

Zaccheus Cooper and Zach Wallace combined to go 70 yards on the ground and score the go-ahead touchdown with 2:16 left. The Lions scored again at the end.

6. Queen Creek (4-2) beat Red Mountain 36-29

Payton Barlow had two rushes of more than 50 yards that set up Queen Creek for two early scores.

7. Williams Field (4-2) beat Desert Ridge 21-10

“It feels like we can all trust each other every game and that we’re just bonding more than we did at the beginning of the season,” Williams Field senior receiver Myles Taylor told Brad Falduto after the game. The Black Hawks have won three in a row.

8. Casteel (3-3) lost to No. 11 Chaparral 53-36

After a hot start, Casteel has lost three in a row.

9. Corona del Sol (6-0) beat Dobson 51-0

The Aztecs have outscored opponents 239-40.

10. Highland (4-2) lost to No. 2 Hamilton 46-26

Highland lost two costly fumbles in the defeat.

11. Chaparral (2-1) beat No. 8 Casteel 53-36

Chaparral led 34-28 at halftime before tightening up defensively.

12. Desert Edge (5-0) beat No. 16 Sunrise Mountain 26-23

Adryan Lara’s 34-yard touchdown strike to Andrew Patterson was the difference.

13. Boulder Creek (5-1) beat Shadow Ridge 49-12

Bear Milacek rushed for three first-half touchdowns in the win.

14. Salpointe Catholic (4-0) beat Mountain Ridge 38-21

Anthony Wilhite’s 32-yard touchdown put Salpointe Catholic ahead 38-21 late.

15. Ironwood (4-2) lost to Verrado 60-46

Verrado’s offense scored at will.

16. Sunrise Mountain (4-2) lost to No. 12 Desert Edge 26-23

Sunrise Mountain had a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter but couldn’t get it done.

17. Mountain View Mesa (6-0) beat Mountain Pointe 27-20

Mountain Pointe had possession down seven with 3:23 left at its 16-yard line, but the Toros got a stop.

18. Pinnacle (2-3) lost to No. 5 Liberty 36-25

Pinnacle led, but two late scores by Liberty resulted in an 11-point defeat for the Pioneers.

19. Poston Butte (5-1) lost to Peoria 28-22

Poston Butte’s time in the Top 20 will be short-lived.

20. Mesquite (5-1) beat Marcos de Niza 44-21

Mesquite led 34-7 at halftime.
